The Coconut chutney is the perfect companion for idlis, dosas and uttapams.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Coconut grated
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seed
- 1/2 tsp Urad daal
- 2 Green chillies
- 2 Red chillies (dry)
- 5 Curry leaves
- 2 tsps oil
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
- Grind the coconut green chillies to a fine paste using a little water. Pour the paste / chutney into a bowl and adjust the consistency using suitable amount of water.
- In a small pan, heat the oil and when hot add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry laves, dry red chillies and urad daal. Fry till the red chillies turn dark in color.
- Remove from the fire and add to the coconut paste. Add salt to taste and serve.
