How to make Moong dal halwa

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup ghee
  • 1/2 tsp elaichi powder
  • A pinch of saffron
  • kaju,badam and pista

Preparation Method

  • Wash and soak the moong dal for  6 hours.
  • Drain and grind it coarsely using little water.
  • Take a pan heat the ghee and fry the dal till it becomes golden brown.
  • Soak saffron in 1 tsp of warm milk and keep aside.
  • Add milk and cook,stirring continuousely till all the moisture has been absorbed.
  • Then add sugar and cook till the ghee separated.
  • Add saffron milk and elaichi powder.Garnish with kaju,badam and pista.
  • Moong dal halwa is ready,cool it and serve.
