How to make Daddojanam (Curd rice)?
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 1 cup thick curd
- salt to taste
- For seasoning
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 2 tsp cashew nuts
- 2 tsp chpped ginger,chopped green chillies
- 1 or 2 dry chillies
- Few curry leaves
- Coriander leaves
- Grated carrot (optional)
- 2 tsp oil
Preparation Method:
- Wash the (raw) rice and cook.
- Transfer the cooked rice into a bowl and let it cool.
- To the cooked rice add curd by looking at the consistency and add salt according to taste.
- Take a pan and heat with oil, fry cashew nuts till they are in golden brown in colour. Take them out of the oil and keep aside.
- In the same pan heat oil for seasoning add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, black pepper, dry chillies and finally chopped ginger, chopped green chillies, curry leaves.Fry few minutes and leaves a nice aroma.
- Now remove from fire and add to the curd rice.then mix well.
- Garnish with grated carrot, cashew nuts and coriander leaves.
- Daddojanam is ready.
