Bhel Puri is one variety of Indian “street food” known as “Chaat”. With a nice balance of flavors, including savory, sweet and spicy, Bhel Puri is a perfect snack or appetizer idea. It doesn’t matter how you make it, try this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Puffed rice (bhel, murmura, kurmura)
- 1 cup fine Sav (ompodi)
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 Tomato
- Small piece Raw Mango (optional)
- Few Coriander Leaves
- 1 tsp Tamarind (imli) chutney
- 1 tsp Mint chutney
- 2 tsp Lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Method of preparation:
- In frying pan over medium heat dry roast the puffed rice for 3 to 4 minutes. Let it cool of.
- Chop the onion, tomato, raw mango and green chilies into small pieces.
- Combine these with puffed rice and salt together mix well.
- Add Tamarind Chutney and Mint Chutney according to your taste. Remember that Tamarind Chutney is sweet and Mint Chutney is sour.
- And finally garnish with sav and chopped coriander leaves. Then drizzle the lemon juice to taste.
Tip:
- You can also add grated carrot.
