How to prepare Vegetable Fried Rice?

We can easily prepare Vegetable Fried Rice at home. The advantage of preparing at home is that we can prepare it to suit our liking, adjust sauces to suit our taste buds and we can also skip ajinomoto which is very harmful for our health.

Here is a quick recipe for Indo Chinese Vegetable Fried rice...


  • 4 cups cooked (Basmati) rice
  • 1/4 cup Beans
  • 1 cup Cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 Capsicum
  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 spring Onions
  • 3/4 tsp Vinegar
  • 2 tsps Sesame oil or Peanut oil
  • 3 tsp Soya sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper powder to taste


  • First of all you need cooked rice (If want prepare rice follow this step - soak Basmati rice for 15 minutes and cook adding 1 1/2 cups of boiling water and a tsp of oil. Fluff it with a fork and spread it on a plate to cool.The cooked grains should be separate).
  • Finely chop beans, carrot, capsicum and spring onion greens. Keep them aside.
  • Shred cabbage into thin fine strip.
  • Then heat sesame oil in a pan, when the oil is very hot, add the spring onion whites and saute for a few seconds. Then add beans and fry for a few seconds, followed by carrot, cabbage, capsicum.
  • All the vegetables should be sauteed on high flame and continuous stirring is necessary as we want the vegetables to be crunchy and not fully cooked.
  • Add cooked rice, soya sauce, vinegar, needed salt and pepper. Mix well and serve hot.
