Preparing Cucumber raita

Raita is an Indian condiment prepared with curd and can be served as a side dish to be eaten with pulav,biryani and kababs.Raitas can be prepared with different types of fruits,vegetables and pulses.Cucumber raita is simple and easy to prepare.


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 medium sized Cucumber
  • 1 cup curd/yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin seeds powder
  • 1 green chilli,finely chopped
  • Black salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves,finely chopped

METHOD:

  1. Wash and peel the cucumber.
  2. Grate it and keep aside.
  3. Take a bowl,add curd and whisk till smooth.
  4. Add cumin seeds powder,chopped green chilli,chopped coriander leaves,black salt,grated cucumber and mix well.
  5. Optionally you could even tempering with mustard seeds and urad dal.
  6. Cucumber raita is ready to serve.
